I just read JAWBREAKER by Gary Berntsen (Copyright 2005). This book gives an on the ground blow by blow account of the war in Afghanistan. If you have not read this book and want to know what really happened in Afghanistan, than this would be a must read. Gary Berntsen served under Henry A. Crumpton. Crumpton was the man in Washington, while Berntsen was on the ground. If you added “The Art Of Intelligence, Lessons from a Life in the CIA’s Clandestine Service” by Henry A. Crumpton, with JAWBREAKER you will get both the Washington eye view and the man on the ground. Here I will state I disagree with Crumpton’s view on internationalism; but as an individual, he is a good man and smart.
JAWBREAKER is both a tale of heroism, great bravery, the risks taken in war, and tragedy. This book clearly showed how good the US Military is when it wants to be. The same is true of the CIA. When we first landed in in Afghanistan, the military and the CIA worked together seamlessly. Then suddenly, with out warning, and when most needed, the military holds out on much needed troops when Bin Ladin was trapped. America, on cue, falters and gets stubborn. After the refusal of troops, Berntsen is suddenly re-stationed and replaced by a Washington “insider”. This clearly shows the discrepancy between policy makers, heroic soldiers, and CIA people. Between the Afghans secretly helping Bin Ladin get away, and the military holding back at a most crucial point, the administration allowed Bin Ladin to escape. This made us wait until Obama captured Bin Ladin. Berntsen asks questions and wondered why the sudden change. I am sure an intelligent person like Berntsen had a good idea but chose to let the reader think for him or herself. Gary Berntsen was a Chief Of Station on three occasions which means what he says is considered CIA confirmed, so he leaves the thinking to the reader in order to get his book out to print. So here I will give my opinion in hopes of helping Berntsen. America proved it can function when it wants to. This shows that the higher ups have sold us out. That is why America, on cue, falls apart when the internationalists command us to.
The middle and largest part of JAWBREAKER deals with a blow by blow description of what happened on the ground. The beginning and end of JAWBREAKER deals with the flaws of both military and CIA. In the book JAWBREAKER, Berntsen backs up Fred W. Rustmann’s article “CIA Harmed By Reorganization”. Fred W. Rustmann was a 24 year veteran of the CIA Clandestine Services and was Elite Senior Intelligence Service CIA. Here CIA red tape has stopped operational stuff from happening altogether. Our middle east battle was slowed down to a trickle, and our European operations stopped completely. That was sure convenient for the internationalists. The complaint about red tape is brought up by Berntsen, and here again Berntsen agrees with Fred W. Rustmann. Mr. Rustmann, in “The Case Officer” brings up the fact that it takes eleven people to go through before a single CIA Case Officer action is taken. Now talk about red tape! Remember, when “Ground Floor” ran the CIA, they would never wade through such red tape.
Berntsen noticed that the officers who had the safe cushy jobs got all the promotions, while those who risked their lives and took all the risks were promoted more slowly. This was a clear systematic destruction of the CIA, as planned, by the internationalists. Our politicians are bought and paid for by the international elites and as a result only serve internationalist interests. Clear and blatant treason went unnoticed and unchecked for years. Sadly even the CIA did not notice as it was happening to them. This is what makes you cry for the CIA. It must have been the old “Can not see the forest because you are too close to the trees” thing. JAWBREAKER, as much as “CIA Harmed By Reorganization”, has made me cry because it showed such good men and heroism being squandered by politicians that have little regard for such good men. It bothers me when our best, bravest and smartest people are not respected. Good men should be treated kindly with love and respect.
JAWBREAKER was a good book. I felt that I got to know Berntsen better by reading it. Gary Berntsen is truly an American hero. Berntsen’s JAWBREAKER teams and other named forces, were real American heroes. People like Gary Berntsen sacrifice every day to better our lives. This is true in history as well. People like Fred W. Rustmann and those even more secret, “Ground Floor” CIA, came when America called. Both these men represent heroes past and present. All of us civilians must remember these people did this to save millions of our lives, so be kind to them and reach out to them to unite against the international elites (EU). Today we need these heroes to come home and fight, here, in America to get our independence back, from internationalist (EU) tyranny and austerity. These people have the skills to lead civilians to fight a war. We need them today to lead the American people to get our country back. JAWBREAKER made me see how skilled that Gary Berntsen and people like him are. People like this could easily lead us because they showed ability to lead the people of Afghanistan.
Note I also read “Human Intelligence, CounterTerrorism, and National Leadership, A Practical Guide” by Gary Berntsen. This little thickly packed book is written as if the reader is the newly elected President Of The United States. This book is very detailed. It gives advice to any would be incoming President on what He/ She should do in the current atmosphere. This book shows Berntsen’s intellectual abilities. I disagree with his far too trusting attitude towards merging our Intelligence Community with other nations intelligence services. This is why we lost our sovereignty. Once other countries control your military and intelligence services, they take over and control your country. Time has marched on since this book came out in 2008 (Copyright); so Mr. Berntsen could have thought of other new solutions. This is still a good read to get to know and learn about the Intelligence Community.
